Dr. Yaella Depietri is an environmental scientist specialized in ecological economics, urban systems, ecosystem services, and disaster risk reduction. She has developed an international academic and research career spanning Europe, the United States, and Israel. Dr. Depietri obtained her PhD in Environmental Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain) in collaboration with the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (Germany). Throughout her career, she has held research positions at institutions including The New School (NYC, USA), the Technion (Haifa, Israel), and the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (Venice, Italy). 

Her research focuses on the relationship between environmental change, social-ecological resilience, disaster risk reduction, urban sustainability, and the assessment of ecosystem services as tools for environmental management.  Her work combines interdisciplinary research with a strong commitment to environmental protection, social well-being, and sustainable urban futures. She has also taught courses and delivered lectures on environmental policy, ecological economics, sustainability, and resilience in international academic and professional settings.
