המרכז משאבי הטבע והסביבה גאה במייסדו פרופ’ מרדכי שכטר.  ועדת ההיגוי של הפורום הישראלי לכלכלת סביבה בחרה להעניק לו את פרס מפעל החיים הראשון של הפורום.

הפרס מוענק ל פרופ’ מרדכי שכטר כהוקרה על תרומתו הייחודית ורבת השנים לפיתוחו, לביסוסו ולקידומו  של תחום כלכלת הסביבה בישראל, על עשייתו האקדמית והציבורית פורצת הדרך, ועל תרומתו להכשרת דורות של חוקרים, אנשי מקצוע ומקבלי החלטות.

הפרס יוענק במסגרת הכנס השנתי הראשון של הפורום הישראלי לכלכלת סביבה באוניברסיטת רייכמן ביום חמישי ה-2.07.2026 במעמד נשיא אוניברסיטת רייכמן, חברי הפורום, חוקרים, אנשי תעשייה, קובעי מדיניות וסטודנטים.

The Natural Resources and Environmental Research Center (NRERC) is proud of its founder, Prof. Mordechai Shechter. The steering committee of the Israeli Forum for Environmental Economics has chosen to award him the Forum’s first-ever Lifetime Achievement Award.

The award is presented to Prof. Mordechai Shechter in recognition of his unique and long-standing contribution to the development, establishment, and advancement of the field of environmental economics in Israel, his groundbreaking academic and public work, and his contribution to training generations of researchers, professionals, and decision-makers.

The award will be presented during the First Annual Conference of the Israeli Forum for Environmental Economics at Reichman University on Thursday, July 2, 2026, in the presence of the President of Reichman University, Forum members, researchers, industry professionals, policymakers, and students.
