אסדרת משק הפסולת בישראל
משבר הפסולת בישראל מחייב חשיבה חדשה, שיתוף פעולה רחב והובלה מקצועית.
ב-11.2 קיימה פרופ’ אופירה אילון, ראש המרכז לחקר משאבי טבע וסביבה באוניברסיטת חיפה, יחד עם מרכז המועצות האזוריות, מפגש היוועצות ייחודי בהשתתפות כ-60 מומחים מובילים בתחום הטיפול בפסולת, לקראת הרפורמה המוצעת בשוק הפסולת.
הדיון התמקד באתגרים המורכבים של התחום – ממחסור בפתרונות ותשתיות, דרך פשיעה סביבתית והשלכה פיראטית, ועד חוסר שקיפות ואי-ודאות רגולטורית.
מתוך ההבנה שנדרש שינוי עמוק, גובשו במסגרת הסדנה המלצות מעשיות, שעתידות להתפרסם בימים אלה במסמך מסכם.

CROSS-COUNTRY WEBINAR ON FOOD LOSS AND WASTE from Germany, Israel and the UK: Insights into Policies, and Practical Solutions. The webinar was organized by Prof. Ofira Ayalon, Head of NRERC
1.3 billion tons of food are lost or wasted annually. In our recent cross-country webinar, experts from Germany, Israel, and the UK discussed how national strategies, EU regulatory targets, and voluntary industry agreements are advancing SDG 12.3.
Key insights: households account for 40–50% of total food waste; measurement systems are essential but still inconsistent; and behavioral, emotional, and cultural factors often outweigh purely economic incentives.
Digital tools, mandatory separate collection schemes (aligned with landfill ban), and emerging standards such as International Organization for Standardization ISO 20001 show pathways forward.
The takeaway is clear: effective food waste reduction requires regulation, reliable data, cross-sector collaboration, and a nuanced understanding of human behavior.
